The British Chief of Berlin's military police, Lieutenant-Colonel T.C. Irvine is under arrest in a house in a British zone of Germany, 250 miles from Berlin. The nature of the charges against him has not yet been disclosed. Lieutenant-Colonel T.C. Irvine was detained on Saturday and escorted to the British zone by two high-ranking British officers. His court-martial is expected some time early in the New Year. Irvine an old Eight Army man, fought in the Western Desert. A colorful, dashing figure, he personally led the now famous armed raids on the notorious Tiergarten black market. He used Comet tanks and Bren gun carriers.
