Bettws-Y-Coed: Swallow Falls: The famous Swallow Falls, Bettws-Y-Coed, where an old tradition says that as a penance for his oppression of the people, the spirit of Sir John Wayne, of Gwydyr, is doomed to remain in the pore beneath the fall, there to be purge and purified. Sir John was MP for the County of Caernarvon in 1596 and one of the Council of the Marches of Wales.
