Bogna Sokorska de domo Kaczmarska (b. 6 April 1927 in Warsaw, d. 10 May 2002 in Warsaw) - Polish opera singer, soprano coloratura. The artist was married to pianist and composer George Sokorski (brother of Vladimir Sokorski - chairman of the Committee. Radio and Television for the rule of Wladyslaw Gomulka). Sister of the painter Janusz Kaczmarski, aunt of the poet and bard of Jacek. She was one of the most outstanding Polish artists, singers of the second half of the twentieth century. She studied singing in Warsaw with M. Dobrowolska-Gruszczyńska (1945-1948) and at the Ada Sari (1948-1954). In the years 1958-1973 with breaks resided abroad. She won the National Competition of Singing (1951), a soloist with the Warsaw Opera (1961-1963) and opera houses in Düsseldorf (1964-1970) and Essen (since 1970). Guest performances took place in European opera houses, recitals, concerts at home and abroad. She recorded the album "Nightingale of Warsaw" (1964). Warsaw residents called it the "Nightingale of Warsaw". She made numerous recordings with the orchestra. In his operatic repertoire he had about 20 games coloratura soprano (including Constance, blond, Fiordiligi, Queen of the Night, Norina, Gilda) and many songs Polish and foreign composers. Also devoted herself to teaching, taught at summer courses in Weimar, one of her students was Justin Reczeniedi [1], the author of the book "Bogna Sokorska. Life and career Nightingale Warsaw - memory". October 30, 2011 in Piastowie was the unveiling of the obelisk dedicated to Bognie and George Sokorskim.
