Description

Disputed S.W. African Diamond Mining Area. Two photographs showing the difference in the foreshore at high and low tide at Elizabeth Bay. In the High Court of South West Africa, consolidated Diamond Mines of SOuth West Africa, of which Sir Ernest Oppenheimer is chaiman, is challenging the right of the Administrator of the territory in granting a concession to prospect for diamonds to another mining company, the SOuth-west Prospekteerders. Consolidated claim that their rights in the area extended to the low water mark, but the Administrator, r. D.T. Viljoen, says that the boundary is the high water mark.
