Facit AB was an industrial group with headquarters in Åtvidaberg. The company's parent company Åtvidaberg's industries initially manufactured wood products (furniture, furnishings, bodywork, components) but from the 1940s, the company's production of office machines was dominated. Facit gained great success in the 1930s with counting machines and bought Swedish manufacturers like Halda and Original-Odhner. The company then grew strongly after World War II with sales worldwide. The company ended in the early 1970s in a deep economic crisis as a result of the technology switch to electronic machines and was acquired by Electrolux in 1972.
