Henry Alfred Kissinger 1923 in Fuerth as Heinz Alfred Kissinger) is an American political scientist and former politician of the Republican Party. The Jewish German Americans Kissinger played within the foreign policy of the United States from 1969 to 1977 a central role; he represented a hard realpolitik as well as one of the architects of relaxation during the Cold War. From 1969 to 1973, Kissinger was National Security Advisor, 1973-1977 US Secretary of State. In 1973 he was together with Lê Đức Thọ the Nobel Peace Prize for a cease-fire and withdrawal agreement with North Vietnam. From 1977 to 1981, Kissinger director of the influential US private think tank Council on Foreign Relations. He was born on May 27.
