Menachem Start Menachem Begin (in Hebrew: ??????? ???????), born August 16, 1913 in Brest-Litovsk in the Russian Empire (now Belarus), died March 9, 1992 in Tel Aviv, became Israel's sixth prime minister in 1977 (for Likud). He became the first bourgeois politician on the post. His main political initiative is the Camp David agreement, which he negotiated with Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, for which the two were allowed to share the Nobel Peace Prize in 1978.
