Lawrence Francis "Larry" O'Brien, was one of the United States Democratic Party's leading electoralstrategists for more than two decades. He served as Postmaster General in the cabinet of President Lyndon Johnson. He was appointed in 1946, 1948, and 1950 by his friend Foster Furcolo to serve locally as the director of the U.S. House of Representatives election campaigns. He was born on July 7, 1917 and died on September 28, 1990.
