Menahiem Livni, alleged leader of the Jewish terrorist group accused of crimes against Arabs on the West Bank. Livni, 37, is the principal defendant among the 22 Jewish settlers whose trial opened in Jerusalem in June 1984; the charges against him include premeditated mrder and membership of a terrorist organzation. An engineer, he is also commander of a reserve battalion of army engineers, and is a principal figure among Jewish settlers in Hebron.
