Rear Admiral Daniel Smith was a U.S. service chiefs. Commander of Navel Forces in Japan since 1968. Born 1910, he attended the U.S. Naval Academy, and was commissioned in 1932. During the second world war he commanded carrier Aircraft Squadroms. Subsequently he has commanded USS Randolph, served in the office of the chief of Navel Operations, becoming Assistant chief in charge of Fleet Operations.
