Walter David Alexander Lentaigne was a British Indian Army officer. He was sometimes called "Joe" Lentaigne. Walter Lentaigne joined British Indian Army as 2nd lieutenant in October 1918 in 4th Gurkha Rifles. He fought in the Third Anglo-Afghan War in 1919. During World War II he commanded a battalion during the 1942 Burma Campaign and was later given command of 63rd Indian Infantry Brigade. He was born on 15 July 1899 and died on 24 June 1955.
