Description

Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon was the younger daughter of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, and the only sibling of Queen Elizabeth II. Margaret's father became King, and her older sister became heir presumptive with Margaret second in line to the throne. During World War II, the two sisters stayed at Windsor Castle, despite suggestions to evacuate them to Canada. During the war years, Margaret was considered too young to perform any official duties, and instead continued her education. Margaret was often viewed as a controversial member of the royal family. Her divorce earned her negative publicity and she was romantically linked with several men. She was born on 21 August 1930 and died on 9 February 2002. Antony Charles Robert Armstrong-Jones, 1st Earl of Snowdon is an English photographer and film maker. In addition, Armstrong-Jones invented a design of an electric wheelchair, for which he was granted British Patent 1230619 in 1971 ("Means for Providing Mobility for Physically Handicapped Persons"). He was born on 7 March 1930. Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, Antony Charles Robert Armstrong-Jones, 1st Earl of Snowdon, people, men, women, sitting, leisure activity, 1967,
