In at the Deep End: Hairdresser, A hairdresser can be a woman's best friend - or her worst enemy. "With this small pair of scissors you can make a woman cry for a month and ruin her for a short while," says Vidal Sassoon stylist. Nick Handel's film follows Paul's three months' intensive training at the Sassoon School of Hairdressing after which he is to cut a completely new style for a celebrity lady. He is given plenty of advice from famous women who know the importance of the right hairstyle. "Cutting a lady's hair is cutting her personality," warns Anita Harris. Pamela Stephenson thinks Paul needs a gimmick to look the part - "wear an eyepatch" is her suggestion. But before he can tend to his image the new salon junior must clean the brass on the doorstep and sweep the floor as well as learn to shampoo and blow-dry. Before he will be allowed anywhere near a celebrity's hair he must take part in a prestigious Sassoon soiree and create a 'total look' for a professional model.
