Sverige was dismasted in a 25-knot wind while racing against "Lionheart" off Brighton. An 18-ton diving bell at the stern of the Star Arcturus 1,515 tons which arrived in the pool of London - the first North Sea oil supply ship to visit the Thames. Inside the 25-feet high bell engineers worked in shirtsleeve conditions without using diving suits or breathing apparatus to weld pipelines 530 feet down o the bed of the British section of the North Sea.
