Sudanese politician, Sayed Ahmed Suliman, 1970. Sayed Ahmed Suliman was a Minister of Economics and Foreign Trade since October 1969. Born 1924; he was educated at Gordon Memorial College and Fouad University. He was active in student politics and international youth movements: helped found the Sudanese Students Union and joined the secretariat of the World Peace Council, working in Germany, Poland, Czechoslovakia and Austria. He established the Sudanese Bar Association and remained Secretary until appointed Minister in 1969. He represented the Sudanese Communist Party at the Moscow Conference of 1959, and for a brief time was Sudan's Ambassador to the Soviet Union.
