U.S. Army planes wreck Japanese bridge in Burma. A jagged gap in the Namkin railroad bridge in Burma, which the Japanese used to move supplies and reinforcements to their troops, testifies to the results of an experiment in a new type of aerial bombing tries out by planes of the Tenth U.S. Army Air Force based in India. American P-40 fighter planes, converted to carry 1000-pound bombs, attacked the Namkin bridge and completely destroyed one of the structure's main spans.
