Viktor Vasilyevich Gorbatko was a Soviet cosmonaut who flew on the Soyuz 7, Soyuz 24, and Soyuz 37 missions. After leaving the space program in 1982 he taught at the Air Force Engineering Academy in Moscow. In 2011, Gorbatko spoke at the first Starmus Festival in the Canary Islands, delivering a lecture on the first Soviet cosmonauts. His talk is included in the bookStarmus: 50 Years of Man in Space. He was born on December 3, 1934.
