21Apr
Earth Day started on April 22, 1970, when 20 million Americans decided to protest environmental ignorance.
Denis Hayes, the man behind this event, was just a graduate student at Harward when he met with Senator Gaylord Nelson to pitch in his idea about the environment.
That is how Earth Day started: as a response to the environmental crisis that affects our planet.
It is recognized as the largest civic event in the entire world and invites everyone to take part in it.
Earth Day 2020 is not canceled!
Even though we are all social distancing, we can still celebrate indoors!
IMS Vintage Photos and the environment
Here at IMS we invite you to take part in this day and think about the responsibilities we all have as individuals on this planet.
Each photo from our website is a press photo, meaning that it originated from a press archive and was intended for editorial use.
All photographs are archive originals with proven provenance.
By selling the originals, we give them a new home and present people with a more sustainable way to decorate their home, their office or workspace in general.
Every year, we consume perishable items that can be easily replaced therefore creating more pollution.
By choosing to purchase our photographs you will cut down on the waste that is generated by such practices and you will become the owner of a valuable photo that has survived already many years!
Additionally, since our photos cover many topics and retrace our history, you can see how the world used to be in the past and how the environmental crisis is changing it.
