President Ronald Reagan presided over high-level talks between the United States and Israel at the White House in Washington DC. The Israeli delegation was led by Foreign Minister Yitzhak Shamir and included David Kimche, Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Benjamin Netanyahu, Charge of the Israeli Embassy; Eli Rubenstein, Legal Adviser to the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Yosi Ben- aharon, Chef de Cabinet, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Geoffrey Kemp, NSC staff member; Morris Draper, Ambassador to the Israel-Lebanon negotiations; Nicholas Veliotes, Assistant Secretary for Near East/Asia (NEA) Affairs; Special Envoy Philip Habib; Kenneth Dam, Deputy Secretary of State; and Secretary of State George Bush. In the past, the photos were often parts of a series or were mass-produced by the archives. Nowadays, their number is decimated - many were destroyed by time, use, or natural disasters. Few were preserved and are nowadays carefully stored in our archives.
