Mitsubishi HSR-IV - 1.6-Liter V6 MIVEC Engine: The HSR-IV (Human Science Research) concept vehicle employs a fuel-efficient 1.6-liter V6 MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing and lift Electronic Control + Modulated Displacement), 24-valve DOHC, a normally aspirated engine that features Super Multi-Mode Control with four operational modes. The engine delivers 180 horsepower and plays a major role in HSR-IV' s fuel efficiency. The vehicle' s powerplant possesses a valve-timing mechanism with two sets of cam profiles for low and high speeds, along with a variable displacement system that shuts down one of the two cylinder banks (the intake and exhaust valves of three of the six cylinders) when high performance isn' t required (MD mode).

Few were preserved and are nowadays carefully stored in our archives.
