First, digital cameras check whether the correct camshafts for the respective engine type are installed. The camshafts on the intake and exhaust sides are then rotated by an electric motor. The measuring electronics diagnose missing parts, material or assembly problems on the basis of the detected drag torques and eject faulty cylinder heads from the current production.

In the past, the photos were often parts of a series or were mass-produced by the archives. Nowadays, their number is decimated - many were destroyed by time, use, or natural disasters. Few were preserved and are nowadays carefully stored in our archives.
