1970 Shigenitsu Aterekt Japanese surrender - Vintage Photograph

Japan: Shigori Takei, Chairman of the Japanese delegation, on 2 September in Tokyo in front of Japanese Unterseeburg, the parliament and the press. Japan had joined the USA on 08.09.1941. At a ceremony, the American flag was handed over to him by US President Harry S. Truman, who then signed him when signing the Japanese capitulation on behalf of the American people 25 years ago. Japan: Shigenori Takei, Vorsitzender der japanischen Delegation, am 2. September in Tokio vor der japanischen Unterseeburg, dem Parlament und der Presse. Japan hatte sich am 08.09.1941 den USA angeschlossen. Bei einer Feierstunde wurde ihm von US-Präsident Harry S. TRUMAN die amerikanische Fahne übergeben, der ihn dann bei der Unterzeichnung der japanischen Kapitulation im Namen des amerikanischen Volkes vor 25 Jahren unterzeichnete.

Since the photos are old press photographs they may have scratches, lines, or other wears of time, which just underlines the authenticity and age of the photos. In the past, the photos were often parts of a series or were mass-produced by the archives. Nowadays, their number is decimated - many were destroyed by time, use, or natural disasters. Few were preserved and are nowadays carefully stored in our archives.
