6.6.2000: The Swiss street celebrated, and thousands of visitors came - until the rain began. From Wiebke Fey, Frankfurt. Too bad - that was the most common used word on Saturday around the Swiss street. Anyway, in the late afternoon, as the first major rain gate driving the searching in restaurants and pubs. But there the tap taps were hot and the hosts joyfully raced his hands. 6.6.2000: Die Schweizer Straße feierte, und Tausende von Besuchern kamen - bis der Regen begann. Von Wiebke Fey, Frankfurt. Schade - das war am Samstag rund um die Schweizer Straße das am häufigsten gebrauchte Wort. Jedenfalls am Spätnachmittag, als der erste große Regenguß die suchend in Gaststätten und Kneipen trieb. Doch dort liefen die Zapfhähne heiß und die Wirte rieben sich freudig die Hände.

Since the photos are old press photographs they may have scratches, lines, or other wears of time, which just underlines the authenticity and age of the photos. In the past, the photos were often parts of a series or were mass-produced by the archives. Nowadays, their number is decimated - many were destroyed by time, use, or natural disasters. Few were preserved and are nowadays carefully stored in our archives.
