This drawing of the front axle of the Renault 30 TX shows the wheels suspended on two wishbones and the struts. A cross stabilizer helps to reduce the side roll. The rack and pinion steering with hydraulic steering aid is located behind a protective, strong crossbar (and the motor). If the pressure is exerted on the steering housing in the event of a very severe frontal collision, the steering column kinks via a double joint. The Renault 30 TX has disc brakes on all 4 wheels. The front brakes have internally cooled double discs. 2 brake cylinders and 2 brake pads per wheel (picture). In addition to better braking performance, more favorable temperature behavior and better memorability, they serve the dual-circuit braking system, which offers a particularly high level of safety here: if brake circuit I fail, the front wheels are braked, and if brake circuit II fails, the front and rear wheels. The rear axle of the Renault 30 TX is special for a front-wheel-drive car. It is a double articulated axle with two wishbones and one trailing arm each to absorb the braking forces. Due to the special design of this rear axle, the vehicle behaves very well when cornering, without having to forego high suspension comfort. The detailed drawing above shows the load-controlled fuel pressure regulator mounted behind the axle from behind. It adjusts the braking force acting on the rear wheels of the vehicle load and thus prevents the wheels from locking.
