Fresh from its success in the Golden Rose of Montreux Light Entertainment Festival, LWT's fantasy spectacle Fire & Ice is proving an international success with sales confirmed across the globe. Announced as the winner of the Bronze Rose of Montreux last week, Fire & Ice has already been sold to 17 countries worldwide and discussions are continuing in many more territories. A love story featuring champion ice skaters Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, the special has currently been bought by Australia, Singapore, Finland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Portugal, New Zealand, Swaziland, Canada, Cyprus, Gibraltar, Turkey, Denmark, Greece, Mauritius and Jordan. Fire & Ice, which sees Torvill as the Ice Princess and Dean as the Fire Prince exploring a forbidden love which threatens to destroy them and the worlds from which they come, is choreographed by Graeme Murphy. Set to a specially commissioned score by Carl Davis, it was directed by Tom Gutteridge and produced by Nick Elliot and Michael Linnit. Since the photos are old press photographs they may have scratches, lines, or other wears of time, which just underlines the authenticity and age of the photos. In the past, the photos were often parts of a series or were mass-produced by the archives. Nowadays, their number is decimated - many were destroyed by time, use, or natural disasters. Few were preserved and are nowadays carefully stored in our archives.

Press photos have been available to the public for just a few years, and similar to baseball cards, they have attracted investors and collectors. The value of original Press Photos prints has been steadily increasing in value and is expected to to continue doing so.
