Mercedes-Benz 2433 L - Vintage Photograph

Specialized large-volume drawbar combinations are becoming increasingly popular in the transport of light goods. In the Federal Republic of Germany, Belgium, France and the Netherlands, a total of 26, 200 large-volume trucks were on the roads in 1988. Experts are predicting an increase to about 46,000 trucks of this category by 1993. Mercedes-Benz was already participating in the development of large-volume trucks more than a decade ago. At the 1989 Frankfurt International Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz will be presenting a new generation of large-volume trucks based on the heavy-duty and the light-weight categories. Our photograph shows a 2433 L Mercedes-Benz EZ 70 single-pivot drawbar combination, with the newly developed topsleeper, on a motorway slip road.

In the past, the photos were often parts of a series or were mass-produced by the archives. Nowadays, their number is decimated - many were destroyed by time, use, or natural disasters. Few were preserved and are nowadays carefully stored in our archives.
