1997 SL Models Debut Panorama Glass Hardtop Roof. The Mercedes-Benz SL coupe/roadster line includes the six-cylinder SL320, the V8-powered SL500 and limited-production, V12 SL600. New for 1997, the optional heat-resistant glass Panorama hardtop gives the driver and passenger a clear view of the sky all year long, regardless of the weather. The Panorama roof or the standard aluminum hardtop transforms the convertible into a sleek coupe when it's installed. Every SL model comes with door-mounted side airbags, ASR traction control, a fully automatic convertible roof and a rollbar that automatically deploys to protect occupants in a rollover accident. A refined anti-theft system prevents theft using copy keys, and the remote locking feature is more convenient to use.

In the past, the photos were often parts of a series or were mass-produced by the archives. Nowadays, their number is decimated - many were destroyed by time, use, or natural disasters. Few were preserved and are nowadays carefully stored in our archives.
