On March 27, 1980, Paul Mentzel, Sales Manager at Discount Carpets, was on hand to help and advise customers in their purchase of carpeting for their home. The store featured a wide selection of patterned and plain carpets from brand leaders such as Brintons, Bondworth, and Lancaster, as well as a range of carpet tiles for kitchen flooring. Special order carpets were also available, in addition to remnants at knock-down prices. To ensure customers were satisfied with their products and service, a new sales team was put together, headed by Mr. Mentzel. Estimator Mr. G. Wadforth and Mr. J. Olioud, who joined the company recently, provided assistance to potential customers, while Mr. A. Cheery was appointed branch manager to coordinate the smooth running of the store. Few were preserved and are nowadays carefully stored in our archives.
