Included in the ongoing 8th Triennial of Photography Hamburg 2022 are three Herbert List exhibitions all opening now in May. The first one, HERBERT LIST. THE MAGIC EYE opened on the 14th at Bucerius Kunst Forum. The others open at Bargheer Museum on the 15th, and the third at Kunstgwerebe Museum at the 20th. The Bucerius exhibition contains 240 works by this Hamburg born Magnum photographer and is an impressive odyssey through his entire oeuvre. Born in 1903 Herbert Lists career kicked off in the 1930´s and covers everything from views of Hamburg at day and night time, portraits of friends, photo journalism, still lifes, and portraits of the intellectual and glamourous elite of his time.
